Picturesque villages Morintci, Shevchenkove have been united into the National historical and cultural reserve “Taras Shevchenko motherland " in 1992. There are 43 historical and cultural monuments in the Reserve. The centre of the reserve is the former Taras parents’ estate in the village Shevchenkove (Kirillovka). It is Literary Memorial Museum of T. Shevchenko since 1939. There is a house of government official in few hundred meters away where small Taras have been studying. Tourists can see the house in village Morintci where the poet was born.

9.00 Cherkassy sightseeing tour «Cherkassy – the past and the present».
Cherkassy is one of the hundreds outstanding cities of Ukraine but deserves the most honourable place in the history of the Ukrainian nationhood. The first reference to Cherkassy was in 1305 when it was a fortified city on the southern borders of the Kyiv land. During the tour you will listen to the glorious history of Cherkassy and its contemporary challenges. Visiting Museum of «Kobzar» T. G. Shevchenko. The highlight of this tour is an amazing show with elements of combat “hopak” demonstrated by the real Cherkassy Cossacks.

14.00 Visit to Cherkassy drama theatre of Taras Shevchenko and viewing the 6 hour performance «Shevchenko. The epos» (optionally).

9.00 Departure on a journey to a dramatized boat tour «Kaniv - treasure of our spirituality».

Because Tarasova mountain became the burial place of the genius Ukrainian poet, artist, democrat and philosopher. Shevchenko National Reserve was created here in 1923.
